First car

Dad. You  were the best Father anyone could have wished for.  My fondest memory was when you handed me the keys to my first car. A Ford Cortina mark 2. This was your car, but the engine blew up. You bought yourself another car. An Austin Cambridge off Micheal Ayres.  You kept the Cortina in the garage. During a very cold and long winter, after work every night and weekends, you rebuilt the engine. Bashed out a couple of dents and re sprayed the car. Often working till midnight after a long days work. When the car was ready, you just handed me the keys and said shes yours now. No big deal. No big fuss. I loved that car.  It meant so much. It was the car that Dad built.

That was the kind of Father your were. You are now in peace. Say hello to Mum xx
